Kevin Zapata (1996) is a trumpet player and composer/arranger. Originally from Nederland, TX, he attended the University of North Texas studying Jazz Trumpet and the University of Miami studying Studio Jazz Writing. Kevin has had the opportunity to play and write for many artists and groups such as Catherine Russell, René Marie, Tom Scott, Willy Chirino, Brubeck Brothers Quartet, The One O’Clock Lab Band, Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, Stephen Guerra Big Band, Jazz Aspen Snowmass Academy Big Band, Frost Concert Jazz Band, Courtney Wright Jazz Orchestra, Army Jazz Ambassadors, Air National Guard Band of the Southwest and more. His upcoming album “Dark Matters” will be a debut release slated to release in 2024.
