Steve Guerra is a composer, arranger, saxophonist, and educator, serving as Director of the Studio Jazz Writing Program and Assistant Professor at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. He oversees graduate jazz composition curricula and teaches arranging, composition, and production courses. Guerra has written for artists including Dave Koz, Ben Folds, Clark Terry, and the National Symphony Orchestra, and has performed with Phil Woods, Al Grey, and Louis Bellson. Formerly Clark Terry’s musical director, he released Namesake with the Stephen Guerra Big Band and has contributed to projects by Emilio and Gloria Estefan, Il Divo, and Inter Miami CF. Before joining Frost, he taught high school and founded jazz programs in New Hampshire. He holds degrees from UNH, Eastman, and Frost.
