About the Presenting Artists(s)
Pete McGuinness is a Grammy-nominated composer/arranger and award-winning jazz vocalist. McGuinness was a long-time New York City-based jazz trombonist, and is currently Associate Professor of Jazz Studies & Arranging at William Paterson University. As a composer-arranger, he has written for the Dave Liebman Big Band, the University Of Miami (Florida), The Westchester Jazz Orchestra and The Swiss Jazz Orchestra among others. As a trombonist, McGuinness has performed with luminaries such as Lionel Hampton, Jimmy Heath, The Woody Herman Orchestra (dir. Frank Tibieri), Mike Holober’s “Gotham Jazz Orchestra”, and Maria Schneider, including the Maria Schneider Orchestra’s Grammy-winning album “Concert In The Garden”. The Pete McGuinness Jazz Orchestra has recorded three albums, most recently 2019’s “Along For The Ride”, and received 3 Grammy nominations.
