About the Presenting Artists(s)

Berlin-based composer, arranger, saxophonist, and vocalist Fabia Mantwill bridges several distinct musical worlds, from classical music to jazz to folk and expands the idea of the traditional orchestra format with her 24-piece signature chamber orchestra. Mantwill’s 'breathtaking, epic debut album' (New York Music Daily) EM.PERIENCE features renowned guest soloists Kurt Rosenwinkel, Ben Wendel, and Nils Landgren. In June 2021, Mantwill was awarded the German Jazz Prize for her arrangement of Ophelia, the opening track of the album. As an arranger and composer, Mantwill has worked with Vince Mendoza, Kurt Elling, Becca Stevens, the Metropole Orkest, National Scottish Jazz Orchestra and the Equilibrium Orchestra in Minsk, to name a few. Mantwill has performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D. C., the Apollo Theatre in New York City, the Elphilharmonie in Hamburg, at renown festivals such as Jazz Baltica, Elbjazz, XJAZZ and others and received an invitation to the prestigious Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead Residency (2016) and the Banff International Workshop for Jazz & Creative Music (2017).
