Berlin-based composer, arranger, saxophonist, and vocalist Fabia Mantwill bridges several distinct musical worlds, from classical music to jazz to folk and expands the idea of the traditional orchestra format with her signature chamber orchestra. Fabia’s latest release IN.SIGHT features renowned guest soloist Anat Cohen, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Momi Maiga, and Roosevelt Collier. In June 2021, Fabia was awarded the German Jazz Prize for her arrangement of Ophelia, the opening track of her debut album EM.PERIENCE. As an arranger and composer, Fabia has worked with Vince Mendoza, Kurt Elling, Becca Stevens, the Metropole Orkest, National Scottish Jazz Orchestra and the Equilibrium Orchestra in Minsk, to name a few. Fabia has performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D. C., the Apollo Theatre in New York City, the Elphilharmonie in Hamburg, at renown festivals such as Jazz Baltica, Elbjazz, XJAZZ and others and received an invitation to the prestigious Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead Residency (2016) and the Banff International Workshop for Jazz & Creative Music (2017).
