Composer/arranger Scott Ninmer shows how to break down your favorite music and rebuild it as your own - like his piece "MTA", reconstructed from the jazz standard "Take the A Train".
About the Presenting Artists(s)
Trombonist, composer, arranger, Scott Ninmer has written for musical luminaries such as Trisha Yearwood, Fred Hersch, Richard Bona, Raul Midon, Gregory Porter, Steve Wilson, and Marcus Printup. Ensembles that have commissioned Ninmer include the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the Metropole Orkest, the WDR Big Band, the USAF Airmen of Note, and the Eric Miyashiro Band. Ninmer’s music has been featured at notable venues such as the White House, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Lincoln Center, Rockefeller Center, and the Kennedy Center. Since 2014, Ninmer has served as Staff Arranger for "The President's Own" United States Marine Band.
